Jeff Carr began serving as our Senior Pastor in March of 2010. His is married to Wendy and they have two sons, Gabe and Nate. He is a graduate of Bridgewater College (Bachelor of Arts) and a graduate of Eastern Mennonite Seminary (Master of Divinity). Prior to beginning ministry at BWCOB, Jeff served as Director of Pastoral Care at Bridgewater Retirement Community. He has also served as a chaplain resident at the UVa Health System in both adult and pediatric settings as a part of his Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). As senior pastor he is responsible for carrying out and representing the vision, mission, outreach and ministries of the congregation, both locally and beyond, collaborating with staff, lay leaders, congregants, other persons and organizations. He wants the church to be a place where all can share in and experience God’s love.
Jeff is active with the Harrisonburg Rockingham Interfaith Association, having served on the executive committee. He serves on the Eastern Mennonite Seminary CPE professional advisory group, and has worked with the Harrisonburg/Rockingham Free Clinic on their current strategic planning initiative.
Jeff is a Bridgewater College Eagle’s and University of Virginia Wahoo’s fan, but welcomes and loves his Hokie friends anyway. He enjoys the beach, travel, a good laugh, and can often be found with a cup of hot tea in hand. (photo by Lisa Houff Photography ©2015)
